Contribution to the experimental characterization and the modeling of thermo-mechanical behaviours of composite metarials and structures reinforced with composites subjected to very high temperatures (obtained under fire)

Abstract

When structures in Civil Engineering are under fire, they are simultaneously subject to very high temperatures and mechanical stress, which can cause serious socio-economic consequences.

This thesis focused on the identification of thermal- mechanical behavior of composite material and structures reinforced with composite materials under very high temperature condition (up to 1200◦C) and tensile stress. The study includes experimental tests and numerical simulation for assessing the damage of composite materials and real-scale sample.
